Neal Miller New Investigator Award
For outstanding contributions to the field by a promising early career scientist. Named in honor of ABMR's founding president, the eminent behavioral scientist Neal Miller.
The nomination period is now open through November 8, 2024.
Neal E. Miller (1909-2002) was the first psychologist to receive the National Medal of Science, the second president of the Society for Neuroscience, the twenty-first president of the American Psychological Association, and a founder and the first president of the Academy.
The Neal E. Miller New Investigator Award, established on the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Academy’s most distinguished Fellow, is presented annually for imaginatively conceived and carefully conducted research. Miller said, “Be bold in what you try; cautious in what you claim.” The Academy intends for this award to encourage junior scientists to pursue research in that spirit.
