The ABMR Executive Committee solicits nominations for new members each year. Please consider nominating a colleague who you think would make outstanding contributions to the Academy. The next deadline is September 30, 2019
The criteria for eligibility are as follows. The nominee will:
a) Have made a significant contribution to his or her field, and influenced the work of other scientists, as evidenced by widely cited peer reviewed publications, grants, and editorial boards, or senior administrative roles that have significantly advanced the field; and,
b) Hold the rank of associate professor or higher, or hold a comparable rank, if not an academic.
Supporting documentation must include a copy of the nominee's CV and two letters of nomination from current Academy members. The letters should address the nominee's contributions to the field and suitability for membership in ABMR. Most persuasive to the committee will be thorough evaluations of a nominee's record, akin to what would appear in a letter supporting his/her promotion to a higher academic rank. ABMR is committed to enhancing diversity of membership (including diversity of race/ethnicity and of new ideas/expertise by actively recruiting from a broad range of disciplines). ABMR is also committed to getting new members involved in the Academy. We ask that new members attend the annual meeting the year they are elected, or if not possible the following year. We also ask nominators to play an active role in getting new members to attend the meeting. Please send all nomination materials to the Membership Committee Co-Chairs, Mustafa al’Absi (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Viola Vaccarino (email@example.com).
